Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been working diligently for weeks to develop any programming we could offer given the limitations of school closures, social distancing, and the collapse of funding. Our limited staff will work out of St. Paul's Episcopal church, where Freedom School is normally hosted, using proper social distancing, masks, etc. We will deliver food, books, lesson plans, worksheets, and creative materials to each student's residence three times each week to ensure that they are receiving the same academic support that we give them each summer. Though we cannot host the same high-energy program this summer, we hope to still establish the kind of security and trust that normally Freedom School brings. We are looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities that this summer will bring!
