Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been working diligently for weeks to develop any programming we could offer given the limitations of school closures, social distancing, and the collapse of funding. Our limited staff will work out of St. Paul's Episcopal church, where Freedom School is normally hosted, using proper social distancing, masks, etc. We will deliver food, books, lesson plans, worksheets, and creative materials to each student's residence three times each week to ensure that they are receiving the same academic support that we give them each summer. Though we cannot host the same high-energy program this summer, we hope to still establish the kind of security and trust that normally Freedom School brings. We are looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities that this summer will bring!
Stop by St. Paul's Episcopal Church Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to pick up free meals for any children under the age of 18! We are here to serve your families during this time!
The Path to Shine after school program is beginning at both Macon sites: Downtown at St. Paul's Episcopal Church and in the Lynnmore Estates community at the Southside Community Church! It is a free enrichment and tutoring program offered around the state of Georgia. The two sites in Macon are offered after school from 3:30-5:30. If you want to learn more or volunteer with Path to Shine, follow the links above!
